Power House Sexual Assault Center

We advocate for, empower, and protect individuals and families impacted by abuse and violence across Northeast Georgia.

We provide free and confidential services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and human trafficking. Through advocacy, shelter, counseling, forensic services, housing support, and community resources, we help people move toward safety, stability, and whole ealing.

How It Works

Our Sexual Assault Center supports adult survivors through advocacy, forensic medical exams, trauma-focused therapy, and ongoing support. Advocates explain available services, help survivors understand what to expect, and support them as they decide how they want to move forward. Forensic Nurse Examiners provide specialized medical care and evidence collection, while trauma-focused therapy supports healing and recovery.

We also provide community education and awareness focused on preventing sexual violence and strengthening the community’s response. Survivors who believe their sexual assault kit may not have been previously tested can also access the Sexual Assault Kit Victim Notification Portal.

Services

Advocacy: Compassionate support for children and non-offending caregivers throughout the investigation, recovery, and healing process.
Forensic Interviews: Specialized, child-friendly interviews that allow children to share their experiences in a safe, supportive environment.
Forensic Medical Exams Non-invasive medical examinations to assess health concerns, document findings, and support children’s well-being.
Multidisciplinary Team Coordination Collaboration among law enforcement, child protective services, medical professionals, and other partners to coordinate care and investigations.
Prevention Community education and training to recognize, prevent, and respond to child abuse.
Trauma-focused Therapy: Specialized counseling to help children and families process trauma and begin healing.
